Miti Field Laboratories is the independent research identity of Shobha Mourya Dumpati, FGS, FRGS.
Research centers on interferometric and amplitude-based SAR analysis (InSAR/SAR), satellite altimetry, and planetary surface remote sensing. Current and recent work includes: grounding-line migration detection and brine infiltration signatures across Antarctic ice shelves using multi-year Sentinel-1 C-band time series; SWOT Ka-radar and ICESat-2 altimetry fusion for satellite-constrained irrigation water balance estimation; benthic habitat classification through spaceborne lidar and multispectral image fusion; and comparative planetary surface analog studies, including work tied to NASA’s Europa Clipper mission, with further work extending toward Mercury, interstellar object characterization, and lunar polar volatile mapping.
All research is conducted independently of any employer, using open-access satellite data (ESA Copernicus, NASA ICESat-2/SWOT) and open scientific computing infrastructure, with outputs published through peer-reviewed journals and open preprint archives.
